DAY 1

Day 1 - After a quick morning flight from Boston to Atlanta, we headed to the "Chick-fil-A Dwarf House" for lunch.  The Dwarf House hosts the original Chick-fil-A, gives a little history on the company and sits upon a small park with hidden dwarf statues.  After lunch, we headed into the city to check in to our hotel, The Westin Peachtree Plaza, which is one of the tallest buildings in Atlanta.  Our room was on the 70th floor!  Yikes!  After a quick break in the room we headed out to explore the Centennial Olympic Park.  Atlanta was the home of the 1996 Olympics and the park has many statues honoring the games including Olympic Rings.  After grabbing a little dinner at the CNN Center, we attended an exciting Hawks vs Mavericks basketball game at the State Farm Arena.  A highlight was Luka Doncic scoring 73 points on his own; a record for the NBA.

DAY 2

Day 2 - Today was a busy day of Atlanta highlights.  After breakfast, we started our day at the Georgia Aquarium.  We had arranged a "Behind the Seas" tour, where guides took us through some of the daily activities the staff does to care for the sea life and tanks.  After the tour, we explored the aquarium on our own for a few hours.   The aquarium is the largest in North America.   We then went to the World of Coca-Cola, which brings you through a historical account of the Coca-Cola company and ends in a tasting room, filled with different drinks from all over the globe.  We concluded our day with a walk through of the College Football Hall of Fame and dinner at an Atlanta hot spot, The Varsity.

DAY 3

Day 3 - Little Michael's 13th birthday weekend was coming to a close!  After a nice breakfast at the hotel, we packed up our belongings and headed to the Delta Airlines museum located near Atlanta Hartsfield Airport.  Similar to Coca-Cola, Delta's headquarters and main hub is Atlanta.  The museum provides a detailed account of the history of the company, as well as many different aircrafts, uniforms, logos and services that Delta provided throughout the years.  It was interesting for us travel fans!  After the museum, we returned our rental car, got some lunch at the airport and awaited our flight back to Boston.  With many attractions surrounding the Olympic Park and several direct flight options, Atlanta is a fun city for a long weekend.
