CHICAGO

05/05/16 - 05/08/16

DAY 1

Chicago - 1.jpg

Day 1 - After our morning flight to Chicago, we headed into downtown for lunch.  What better meal choice to start with, then some Chicago deep dish pizza!  After pizza, we headed to the John Hancock Tower.  Hold on to your stomach, because the observation deck is 1,030 feet in the sky and offers a slide out window called the TILT. Amazing views.  We walked around downtown spending some time at a few parks and stopping for some photos of the Chicago river.   After a little relaxation, it was back up in the sky, this time 1,353 feet up within the Willis Tower.  The Willis Tower has glass bottom room as part of the observatory; if you dare!  After that, we headed to dinner and back to the hotel for some rest.

DAY 2

Day 2 - We started early with some photos of "The Bean" in Millennium Park.   Millennium park is the largest park in Chicago; it covers nearly 25 acres, with many art exhibits, walking paths and even an outside theater.  We continued our day at the Shedd Aquarium.  The Shedd Aquarium houses nearly 30,000 fish and animals.  Definitely add it to your list, it is an impressive aquarium.  Coincidently, one of Michael's school friends was in Chicago too, so we met his family at the Maggie Daley Park for a little outside fun.  It was a perfect Chicago day.  We ended the day at Chicago's famous Navy Pier for a few snacks, games and rides.  Check out their famous Ferris Wheel.  Chicago can definitely keep you busy!

DAY 3

Day 3 - The morning was busy with stops at the Adler Planetarium and the Field Museum.  The Adler Planetarium is a museum dedicated to astronomy and astrophysics.   Very interesting stuff!  The Field Museum covers Natural History and is one of the largest historical types of museums in the world.  From ancient Egyptian artifacts to a collection of diamonds and gems, this museum has something that will interest you.  Don't forget to check out "Sue", the giant Tyrannosaurus Rex that stands in the center of the museum.  After a quick bite to eat and a final stroll down the "Magnificent Mile", it was time to take our evening flight home to Boston.  It was a great couple of days in Chicago.   From distinct food, parks and attractions, Chicago has you covered.
