WEEK 1
Week 1 - In the Spring of 2021, we were lucky enough to have the option of remote school and work; so we decided to extend a planned long weekend at Disney World to a month-long stay in Florida! It was great, the weather was fantastic and we missed several big snowstorms at home in Boston. We started our trip with 4 days at the Contemporary resort at Walt Disney World. It was Michael's 10th birthday and we did a similar weekend for his 5th! He grew so much, check out the picture! We of course were up early for rope drop at the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. We enjoyed an amazing birthday dinner at the California Grill atop our hotel. After a few action-packed days here - we hit the road for some relaxation at our house in West Palm Beach.

WEEK 2
Week 2 - Our next stop was beautiful West Palm Beach, Florida. This was our first experience with Airbnb and it was definitely a great one! We had our own house fully equipped with a lovely pool, lanai, and BBQ area. We live in a condo; so we definitely appreciated our own pool and backyard. The two Michaels immediately jumped in the pool and fired up the BBQ for dinner outside! ...and guess what; in the morning there was a major snowstorm in Boston; so Michael's first (and second) remote school days were canceled! It was great! For the first couple of days, we stayed pretty low-key; we got some groceries, got settled, and just enjoyed the house, pool, and outside.
Week 3 - As we moved into our second week at the house, we started to explore the area with a few dinners out, a morning at a local botanical garden, and a beach day! The garden was worth checking out. It was the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach. For the beach day, we checked out Lake Worth beach and took advantage of the seat and umbrella rentals available on the beach. It was so nice to be on a warm beach in February. We also checked out Adventure Mini Golf in Lake Worth for a friendly game! Dad even got a hole in 1! Our time went fast and soon it was time to move on; but not before having a great goodbye breakfast at Green's Pharmacy Luncheonette, one of the oldest restaurants in Palm Beach! Yum!
WEEK 4
Week 4 - Our February adventure ended back at the most magical place on earth! Yes, you guessed it, Disney World; this time we tried the Old Key West Resort. The Old Key West Resort is a Deluxe Villa resort; so we had an amazing space to stay. It was like our own Disney apartment with a full kitchen, laundry, and deck. Big Michael had to work a few days this week; so we decided to try this resort for the additional space. We loved it. Great pools, restaurants, and walking paths too. On our first full day, we explored the Animal Kingdom! Early of course! We were in line at 7:00 AM! Crazy. Over the course of the week; Mom and Michael had their own off property adventure (A day at Legoland) and we ended our stay with a delicious breakfast at Topolino at the Riviera Resort! Highly recommend it ...Until next time Mickey!
