DAY 1

Our adventure started with an early direct flight from Boston to Minneapolis, Minnesota. The MSP airport had an easy train directly to the mall. We checked in to the JW Marriott hotel which is conveniently located inside the mall. We enjoyed our stay, a great room, restaurant, bar and pool. We got a quick bite for lunch. Restaurants and food are plentiful at the MOA and started our exploring. The mall has over 500 stores, 2 mini-golf courses, a fly over movie theater, Crayola and Lego experiences and an entire amusement park in the center of it. It is really a sight to see! We played a round of mini golf to get started. Started some Christmas shopping and then ended the day with dinner and a quick dip in the hotel pool.

DAY 2
On the second day, we wanted to go full speed ahead with all the fun attractions the mall had to offer. One quick tip! When we went you could get free admission to some of the attractions for every $200 you spent at any store. Of course, we did not realize this until after we bought the tickets. In the end, we gave away some of our free ones to a few people in line, which made them very happy! We rode roller coasters, ferris wheels and flew over the mall in ninja turtles! It was crazy to think you were in a mall. We also went to the Crayola experience, which is a fun series of arts and crafts type tables, wax demonstrations and even provides you with your own personalized crayons! Recovering from all the craziness, we did some Christmas shopping (and maybe one or two things for ourselves!!).
DAY 3
On day 3, we did a quick Starbucks for breakfast and finished up the attractions including a 4D Fly Over America movie ride which propelled you through everything from New York City's Time Square to the Las Vegas strip to the Grand Canyon. Hold on to your seat! We wrapped up the trip with a walk through of the Aquarium. Yes, fish, turtles and penguins, all at the mall. Pretty amazing. After lunch, we hopped on the express train back to the airport for a quick ride directly to the terminal. The Mall of America is a great little weekend escape, particularly if you have direct flights to Minneapolis. We only stayed 2 nights, so we did not get into the city but if you have kids and need a quick escape, its fun! Oh, and don't forget a jacket, it was snowing in early November!
